Reliving JWOC 2009
After our pre-camp in Lavarone last week, a few of the swedish national team runners (including myself) went up to Passo Rolle to make our final WOC preparations. For me it has been quite special, since it was here in Passo Rolle I had my first big international succes, winning the JWOC long distance 2009. It was great fun to get the opportunity to run the course again, 5 years later. Even though there is a little bit more snow and windfallen trees now, it was just as fun and technically demanding as I remembered it to be.
I have also visited the other final areas; the relay in Val Canali, where I had a great interval session this wednesday, and rerunning the middle final in San Martino. We are spending our time climbing via ferratas and trying to buy a climbing rope (which has turned out to be a lot more difficult than you would expect), so we can do some top roping on the great rocks around here. My running shape is getting better and better, and I am really looking forward to WOC now!
